LOS ANGELES (AP) - An online file-sharing service that promised to offer unlimited, free music downloads from all the major record labels, has hit an apparent snag.
Warner Music, Universal and EMI all say they don't have licensing deals in place with the new service, Qtrax. The labels say discussions are still ongoing.
Qtrax was scheduled to make its online debut on Monday, a day after its splashy coming-out party at the annual Midem music business conference in Cannes, France.
Company officials wouldn't comment Sunday.
